THE PRESS
A thin, flexible blade mounted parallel to and adjustable against an engraved roll, for the purpose of scraping off excess material.
THE PLATE
Flexographic printing plates can be made of either vulcanized rubber or a variety of ultraviolet-sensitive, curable-polymer resins.
The plates have a base-relief and print directly to the substrate with a very light impressión.
ANATOMY OF LABEL
The top coat is a coating or lamination applied over the face stock, to provide physical protection from abrasion. Top coats can be used to improve adhesion or legibility of secondary imprints, typically used for date or lot coding.
